Since it runs fine under Perl 4.036, 4.035, 4.019 and probably some in
between, it seems like you'd be missing a whole chunk of versions somehow.
At least 4.036 < 5.002 when I took math....

We promised perl4 compatibility until 2.0 and we don't plan to break that
promise.  How much longer we can stand it is another matter.
