Majordomo is improperly configured.  What happens when you run "wrapper
config-test" as you (not as root or the majordomo user)?

Because subscription involves adding a line to a file in append mode.
Unsubscription involves making a copy of the list minus the removed
address, then renaming the copy.

They're temporaries.

Most systems need this to be owned by root, but you didn't tell us which
system you're running.
