All,
I'm running majordomo 1.93 on a Dec Alpha 2100. It has been running
fine for months. Over the weekend, a user subscribed to one of the lists
set up a email autoresponder (the Unix vacation program) and CC: the
majordomo list! Of course, this created a loop between majordomo and the
vacation program (which did not ignore the mailing list as they are
supposed to). The end result being that every user on the list got
THOUSANDS of "I will be on vacation..." messages from the user before I
caught it and shut down the list.
My question: Is there a good way to prevent this from happening (other
than shooting the user of course!)?
Thanks for any help everyone can provide.
-Andy
(I'll bet that users gets some real *HATE* mail when they come back from
vacation....!!!)
