Help!! We are trying to setup major domo on a unix server. It was installed by someone other than ourselves. My colleague and I are not UNIX people, we just rent the server and FTP HTML files and such for our 3 person web page business. The version of Majordomo installed is 1.93 We can get a simple mailing list to work, for example the "sample" list and a similar one that we set up copying the sample example. Our problem is that we cannot get a "moderated" list to function at all. It does send subscription requests to the list owner which can be verified by a password, but if you try to send an email to the list then we get error messages saying that we have to specify the host and listname in the wrapper program. We think we have done this correctly in the alias file but after trying literally almost a hundred variations, after ten hours, until 4 am last night we gave up and collapsed. We could send sample output files, and any server files, to anyone who could help us. We just don't know what to do and we want to try to avoid having to pay someone to do this for us. Of course we don't expect any majordomo user to spend more than a little bit of time helping us for free! (GRIN). Please reply directly to our email address and if you can help us tell us what files (alias file, etc) we should send to you via email. I can't believe that we haven't been able to figure this out, but we ARE very stumped.
