(Apologies to Muni, who started this thread on majordomo-workers. I'm
replying to it over on majordomo-users, because we got off the subject of
coding majordomo.)

Muni:
My solution to one-stop mailing lists is currently at
http://goodstuff.prodigy.com/Lists/
It's a Web interface, which unfortunately adds ease-of-forging, but we're
making do (until abuse drives us to require confirmations, which may be
soon!). This naive crowd you're targetting (mentioned in lines that I snipped)
will always be more comfortable on the Web, I think. I find even the
Juno users generally have some sort of Web access. Just make sure you put
the URL either in the headers or the message footers, to cut down on the
individual contacts.
Compare the per-list page, e.g.,
http://goodstuff.prodigy.com/Lists/wiseacres.html
to the general admin command page:
http://goodstuff.prodigy.com/Lists/info01.htm

Well, let's not argue with them. I think I know which they'd pick. :)

(I apologize in advance if I mis-quoted anybody... I'm just using elm!)
The FIDO tangent:
Speaking of the Libertarians... (who have a semi-active Fidonet community)
does anyone here have any experience gating a Majordomo list to a FidoNet
feed? It's something I'm considering--knowing I'll find the FidoNet experts
(like Jim Dehn) on the other end. It looks like when the post
comes out of Fidonet from a bbs user, the "from" address is the name of
the fido area, so it shouldn't cause any problems with restrict_post.
Does that make sense?
Yours in Liberty,
Bonnie Scott
