Hi all,
I'm a new user to Majordomo. I've installed 1.94.1. and it is
working fine. I have a question about configuration. I just
sent an email to a list of 38,000 users that I just created.
I was told that normally when an email was sent out to this list
about 1,000 or so would bounce for various reasons. My plan was
to delete these bounces after I sent out my first email to my
new Majordomo list. Well, I sent the message out yesterday and
I do not see ANY bounce messages sent as email to me. My email address
originated the message and I am the owner of the list. I 'tail -f'ed
the syslog and saw a few bounces at the beginning of the list but then
nothing, not even any syslog entries for good deliveries. This I find
strange as other emails throughout the day showed up in syslog.
Could this be because the 'Precedence = bulk' config option was set?
What can I do to make sure that I see the bounces next time? Also,
I don't seem to have a way to see if the email'ing to the list is
complete. I do notice that user majordom owns a sendmail process on the
machine so I assume that it is still try'ing to crank through the
38,000 addresses but I'd like to see status of where it is. If it was
logging to syslog I could get a feel.
Any ideas?
