The lists which I support have complete (and well written) intro files, so
the text which majordomo sends before the intro file when a new user
subscribes actually gets in the way, so I just end up uncommenting that
chunk of code from the 'welcome' routine in 'majordomo' everytime I do an
upgrade.
As a suggestion (and only a suggestion), perhaps the 'majordomo' code could
be improved to not dish out any "greeting" text in the welcoming message if
there is an intro (or an info) file present.
I do agree that if there is no intro or info file present, then yes, the
text which is sent out now would be quite helpful.
Again, I only submit this as an enhancement suggestion.
