Hi all,
Just when I thought I had the problem beat. It pops up again. I'm
receiving out of memory messages at the console. The HD is thrashing
itself to pieces. One of the messages I'm receiving is :
../../Library/Implementation/HTFormat.c HTInput Socket_new : Out of
Memory.
I'm running Linux 1.2.13, Perl 5.003, MJ 1.94.1. I have 30000+ blocks
defined as swap space, 16 meg of Ram & 450 odd meg of free HD space.
> Mailer /usr/lib/sendmail -oi -oee -fowner-vizsla@tradesrv.com.au vizsla-outgoing > exited unexpectedly with error 6
I have just tried reducing the MJ uptime option to 4 to see if this does
anything.
I've almost run out of ideas on what could be causing this problem. Do I
have insufficient swap space ? I run a digest with around 100
subscribers on it. MJ seems to leave quite a few 80K digest tmp files
hanging around in the /tmp directory.
One question I have is how do I find out what version of sendmail I'm
running ? Could it be I have an outdated/buggy implementation ? One
thing I have noticed whilst doing a ps -ax when load is high, I have
around 10+ sendmail processes on the go. Is my sendmail incorrectly
configured ?. Is some parameter over zealous ?
Urggh.. Does anyone ever wonder why they took up running lists ?! I
guess you support guys must have a living nightmare trying to help
idiots like me. I really appreciate your support. Everyone here owes you
a case or two of beer.
Cheers,
Neil.
