Hi,
Just in case nobody saw my last Email on this topic, here it is again.
The problem has repeated itself tonight. The funny thing is at almost
exactly the same time. 8:15 pm. This time I was at the console, so I
managed to get some more info before the box started to fall over. I
managed to stop it from freezing completely by copying a plain vanilla
alias file over the MJ one and running newaliases. It seemed to stop
processing a minute or so afterwards.
Doing a ps-ax displayed 100's of sendmail processes. I couldn't count
them all but I'd say there were almost a 1000 sendmail zombie processes.
Could this be something to do with the digest kicking in ?
I'm in living hell here can someone please help. <INSERT SPAM> I'm so
desperate I'm offering a carton of aussie beer delivered to the doorstep
of the person who helps me solve this &#%@^%@ problem!!! heeeelllpppp!
*sob*<END SPAM>
*hic*,
Neil.
