We have a majordomo 1.93 list server running on our HP-UX 9000 series
machine. We've had it for over a year and ran into a problem the other day
and I just thought I would mention it to see if anyone knew why.
Often when a user ID no longer exists and if their name is still on one of
our lists we will get a returned mail message that says "mhodge - user
unknown'. This is no problem we just go into the list file and delete the
user 'mhodge' from the list. The other day though we got a message from
Majordomo that looked as follows:

As you can see from the above returned message it is impossible to tell
which user ID is causing the problem. After major trial error (since our
list had 180 people on it) we finally narrowed down the user ID that was
incorrect, but this was at the expense of sending numerous test messages to
sometimes 180 people.
I'm wondering why Majordomo did not specifiy the actual user ID as being
unknow, which is what usually happens. Does anyone know?
Your help is appreciated.
