Um... what's confusing?
Two different events are happening here... related, but nonetheless different.
Event 1: You tried to subscribe to a closed list... you received a message
stating that the list is closed and the moderator of the list must approve
your subscription request.
Event 2: As moderator of a closed list, you received a request for
subscription... you must approve or decline the request. The fact that the
subscription request is from yourself has no bearing on the issue. MD
doesn't know who you are... it just knows lists.
All you have to do is approve the request and you'll be subscribed to the
list.
