I forgot to mention in my last message that we are running 

Majordomo 1.94 on a Linux system with 5.003 Perl and 8.76 sendmail.  Again I
am getting the following error message

MAJORDOMO WARNING (mj_resend)!!

shlock: open('/home/majordom/lists/grit.config.LOCK'): No such file or directory
