You can periodically run your list through
ftp://ftp.hpc.uh.edu/pub/majordomo/validate_addresses.  This is a preview
of the code in Majordomo][ which syntax-checks addresses.

It should be possible to back-port the code in validate_addresses to
1.94.x, but I haven't tried it.
