I'm very new, too; however, I see a root@localhost in your return message.
Check your permissions and ownerships, etc. 

I have a problem, also.  I can send 'info sample' to majordomo and receive
the info.  When I do this, a error message is also sent to the
Mailer-Daemon complaining about 'Unknown UID 99@localhost'.  UID # 99 is
set to majordom.  What is going on?  Will adding '99: majordom' to my
aliases help?
