Ok, to continue the ongoing saga regarding the digest failure when
using md1.94.1/perl5.003/hpux9.05:
The regular list works OK, but the digest (which has exactly the same
subscribers as the regular list) returns
553 owner-test-digest@... Cannot decode address
When it is mailed out. What part of majordomo mails out the digest? It seems
like it generates into the outgoing list an entry
owner-test-digest@
which then causes the failure. Our sys adm. guy noted the following:
>I checked the logs on Apex. All entries in the log that fail have the
>address ownter-test-digest@, so it seems like the address isn't getting
>generated correctly. It seems like the return address
>(owner-test-digest@quantum.ece.ucsb.edu) is being set correctly.
How can I make sure that the address is generated correctly? This is also
related (perhaps?) to my earlier problem: It seems like majordomo uses some-
thing like
mail -d majordomo-owner
whenever something is posted on a list. This fails on the hpux (mail -d does
not recognize local alias for some reason unless that alias is a login name).
How can I fix this - right now I don't even know how to start debugging...
Thanks,
Per
