Hi --
I'm new on this list, and have a question.
I have looked through all the information on the FAQ and other documentation
on the website, and haven't been able to find the answer to this question
anywhere.
I've got some real novice users who are supposed to become moderators of
majordomo lists. The problem is, that they use either Netscape Mail
or Microsoft Mail to read/send e-mail.
When they try to approve messages sent to the lists, the approval doesn't
work, because their approval information is not on the first line.
Both Netscape Mail and Microsoft Mail are tacking on a blank line at the
beginning of the message, before their approval line. The messages
bounce back, and nothing we've been able to do can circumvent that blank
line being added at the beginning. I've had complete success moderating
these same lists with both Pine and Elm, so I know now that it's definitely
the mailers adding the blank lines. But I'm wondering if anyone else
has had this problem, and if there's a workaround known for it.
Teaching them how to use Pine or Elm to read e-mail is not an option,
since they're extreme novices in the first place, and their choice of
e-mail agent is dictated by others.
I apologize if this is a question that's been answered before, but as I
said, I haven't been able to find anything on it.
Thanks!
Gaylin
