I had this problem whenever the disk that the lists directory
is on fills up to 100%.  Majordomo zaps the list file down to
zero length.  I moved the lists directory to another disk, linked
it from its previous location, and havent had the problem since.

General comment:  I dont understand why folks cc the whole list
when only asking what majordomo version is being used or what
OS, etc.  Arent there hundreds of people in this list?  Seems
like a waste.  I guess there's the satisfaction in public 
humiliation, but I dont really like my mailbox being used for
that immature approach.
