I had a digest which was refused by some Juno subscribers because of its
length. The strange thing is that I have maxlength = 40000, but the digest
was over 62K (I think Juno limits incoming mail to 60K).
So why was the digest so long? My guess is that the algorithm for checking
digest length goes something like, "Is the digest now > 40K characters? If
not, append the next message to the digest and check length again". The last
post to this digest was VERY long, that's the one that broke the camel's back.
Is there a simple way to fix the digest code to NOT append another article to
the digest if it would make the digest too long? This of course gets into the
obvious problem, "Well, what if there is only one message and it's >40K
characters all by itself?"
