Subject: Protecting a list w sendmail tweeking

Hi,

My ISP gives me some good advice and they passed along this info about
protecting a list. I really don't want to mess with sendmail -- but I'd
like to know what others think, and I'd like to know what the heck is
going on here.

Using: Unix, virtual server, BSD, Majordomo 1.94.1, sendmail.

--- snip

To further improve security, add the
following line to your sendmail.cf file:

Opnoexpn,novrfy

The line probably looks like this already:
Opauthwarnings,needmailhelo

When you are done, it will look like this:
Opauthwarnings,needmailhelo,noexpn,novrfy

---- end snip

Thanks for your insights and opinions.
