Depending on how easy it is to identify addresses that you desribe as 'local',
it would probably be more sensible to use the per-list setting 'advertise'
which you could specifically set to include only addresses in the 'local'
area.
eg:
advertise << END
/^[^\@]*$/
/\@(.+\.)?local\.domain$/
END
would allow any addresses without a domain (assumed to be local) and
addresses of the form something@subdom.local.domain and something@local.domain
to see the list when a 'lists' command is issued.
