why not just use the approve script (with its .majordomo file), if you
have access to a pine. for pine, when you get a BOUNCE from resend
or majordomo, just pipe the BOUNCE file into approve, and send it with
raw text.
we used approve with pine 3.[91,92,96] without any problems.

^W specify 'raw' mode (so it sends *all* the headers to the script)
approve name of script
you do have to enable the pipe command in setup/config tho.
