Comments in email address

I am having a problem using comments in email address when 
subscribing users to mailing lists using Majordomo 1.93. 

When I give the command 'approv password listname name@domain.com 
(comment)' I receive a message saying the user was subscribed was 
that email address, including the comment field.  But, when I look in 
the mailing list email address file there is no (comment) after the 
address.

I came across this problem when seting up the bounce script.

Can anyone offer any insight into what could be causing this?
