The FAQ or even a cursory search of the archives would help.  You need to
make 'mail' a trusted user.  Read up on the Sendmail docs (it depends on
the version and how you're doing your configuration).

I can't guess what you might have done since I don't know what your aliases
looked like before.  Why not just show us?
