With all due respect, Rich, I have to disagree - not with your comment
about them breaking mail programs, etc - but with the statement that
they're annoying.
On the contrary, as a subscriber to several lists that use a subject
prefix, I find it quite useful; I use it to filter incoming messages
to a specific folder for that list.
With the amount of regular email I received (i.e., job-related) this
gives me the option to read the lists' mail (like this one), say on
Friday when nobody at work seems to be as "busy" as they are the other
days of the week. (Anybody see themselves in that scenario? <grin>)
