As I've said in an earlier message to this list, I had a previous version
of majordomo installed and working, then upgraded to RedHat linux and had
trouble with the "pre-installed" majordomo package. Well, we deleted that
package and did the installation ourselves and we're back up. Business as
usual. Almost!

I got a couple of messages bounced due to what majordomo thought were
administration requests (specifically, people putting the word "subscribe"
in the body of the message). In the past, I have just piped these messages
through the approve script, but now when I do that, I get an error from
approve saying that there's no password for the list.

In my home directory, I have a file named ".majordomo". It has the format:
	list-name	password	majordomo@odaiko.ss.uci.edu

and this has not changed since installing the latest version of majordomo.

Why is it that I'm getting these errors, when it worked before? Was
something new added to this version of majordomo that I missed in the
docs? Is it no longer good enough just to have the .majordomo file in my
home directory?
