Also, when you have well recognized domains doing such problems,
mungedomain is an option, I have activated it and reduced incidences
of bounces for Non List Member Submissions. But before using
mungedomain you will have to patch your majordomo (1.94.3) has a bug
that ignores this setting. Mungedomain solves some problems but not
all. The unique consideration is that your subscribers must subscribe
domain only addresses instead of machine related addresses. But allows
to post fron whichever machine is inside a domain.
