We're trying to set up majordomo 1.94.1 on SunOS/Solaris NIS network and
are getting a very interesting problem....
Given:
systemA - mail server
systemB - mail forwarder
systemC/D - mail clients mounting /var/spool/mail from systemA.
NIS is involved because list-request is aliased to list-request@systemA
Mailing to the list-request alias from systemA works.
Mailing from systemB to list-request@systemA or from systemC or systemD
fails with user@systemA or user@systemC/D is not a valid return address.
request-answer: zjat02@apctrc is not a valid return address.
Yet sendmail vrfy returns a 250 - valid address.
What gives?
All of the use is going to be intranet and a lot of it will be local so
fully qualified domain names aren't normally used...
