I find it helps to include a one-line reminder with EVERY message. At
first I picked up the idea from another list of including the header line
X-signoff: To leave this list ...
but some of the subscribers pointed out to me that their mailers strip
off all headers, or at least hide them, so now I have a footer saying
*** To leave this list ...
and that seems to have helped.
Also I have been adding all kinds of things to the taboo_headers and
taboo_body lists. Following a suggestion that Jason Tibbs made, I put
these in separate files for ease of maintenance and use the require
command to include them, so it is easy to add new administrative words
(and even more so, add new spam addresses). Just one point I would add
to his posting -- since majordomo.cf is read before ~majordomo is added
to @INC, you either have to make additional changes to the code or use
absolute paths for these files.
Also, a convenient point to note is that $, /, and E are in the correct
collating sequence, so that you can use sort -u file file to eliminate
duplicate entries from these files!
