I am having the same problem as another poster to majordomo-users. I have
one list that I don't want advertised, my "test" list -- yes, someone
actualy subscribed to it the other day!!
I followed Chad's advice that he sent to the list...
> I put a line in the advertise section of any list I don't want
> advertised to the outside world as such:
> /mei.com$/i
> So only internal requests will see the list. I know putting many lines
> like the above in the advertise section will do what you desire.
So now my test.config file looks like this:
# advertise [regexp_array] (undef) <majordomo>
# If the requestor email address matches one of these regexps, then
# the list will be listed in the output of a lists command. Failure
# to match any regexp excludes the list from the output. The
# regexps under noadvertise override these regexps.
advertise << END
/eclectic.ss.uci.edu$/i
END
I am on "odaiko.ss.uci.edu", *not* "eclectic.ss.uci.edu", so when I send a
lists command to majordomo, my test list should *not* be seen... but it
is. I have nothing listed under "noadvertise".
Chad said:
"As far as I can tell, this should work. I can't think
of anything offhand that would cause this. This is a good
question for the list."
Anyone else have any ideas?
