If you add "exit 75;" to majordomo.cf and then change the name
of the list you will risk of having mail in queue wating to
be delivered to the old list. In that case it does not help
to have a new alias pointing from old to new. In the queue the
mail is stored after alias rewriting.

Solution:

If you follow the sollution of JLT keep the old list with one
address in -- the address to the new list. Create an alias
pointing from old to new. After "exit 75;" is removed AND the
mail queue is processed, the old list can be removed safely.
