Hm. This list has no "Reply-To" header. I had to select "reply-to-all", cut the
author's name from the From header and cut-and-paste the list address from the
Cc to the From header, so the author wouldn't receive a duplicate reply. Gosh,
it was a whole lot of effort on my part, and my fingers are tired.

Those sound like abuses on the configurations of some of your list members. You
would rather have such messages go to the entire list?  If those readers won't
correct the feature (likely under their control), then excercise your authority
and drop them from the list. Under no circumstances should one list member be
allowed to annoy another. You don't want people to become so irritated that
they'll stop posting, a speedy way to kill your list.
