Subject: Digest process failing

I've got a problem with setting up a digest with majordomo-1.93. My list is ctpp,
and I believe I have the digest aliases set correctly and permissions seem
fine, but when the digest process is kicked off, either with a mkdigest
command or because the total byte count of the messages is greater than the
artificially low value I've set for creating the digest, I get the following:

>>>>> Forwarded message from Mail Delivery Subsystem <MAILER-DAEMON@brainiac.com>

The original message was received at Thu, 21 Aug 1997 09:39:26 -0400 (EDT)
from daemon@localhost

----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
"|/usr/local/majordomo/wrapper digest -r -C -l ctpp-digest ctpp-digest-outgoing"
    (expanded from: ctpp-outgoing)

----- Transcript of session follows -----
Receiving 9
No messages to process.
554 "|/usr/local/majordomo/wrapper digest -r -C -l ctpp-digest ctpp-digest-outgoing"... unknown mailer error 2
Message delivered to mailing list ctpp-owner

[ Other headers snipped ]

<< End forwarded message

It says no messages, but in /usr/local/majordom/digests/ctpp-digest I now have 9
messages! It looks like it's trying to process (the "Receiving 9" matches the
number of messages in the directory), but won't do anything with them.

The messages in the digest directory all have the following permissions:
-rw-rw---- 1 daemon majordom 798 Aug 20 16:25 001

I believe I've followed all the steps in the Majordomo chapters in the O'Reilly
book, but there's obviously something I've missed here. Clues greatly appreciated.

PS - is there a searchable archive of this list on the web? I've seen the FAQ, which
doesn't cover this, and there are too many archive files to begin downloading and
grepping to see if this has been covered before. Thanks!
