Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have recently set up a newsgroup for my fraternity the
Freemasons. This newsgroup is moderated in form and therefore the
propagation of messages is more difficult as we only have one
injection point per moderator, as opposed to each participant being a
possible injection point.
This leads to much disappointment as messages get missed by
people who are on ISP's which receive messages poorly from one of the
moderators.
Anyhow, I am wondering about the possibility of finding
someone or some organization that has a Majordomo running and would be
interested in donating a list to the newsgroup I set up. I figure,
when a person complains enough about missed messages, we could
privately offer them a Majordomo version of the newsgroup. The
moderators would then email a BCC: of each approved submission to the
List. I would not be interested in setting up another general
Majordomo for my fraternity (we have one of those already.) I am
interested in helping people who get sore over missing out on our
newsgroup.
In case you are wondering "what are the Freemasons?" Well, we
are a fraternity, the largest international fraternity. We donate
over a million dollars per day to charities as well as providing other
services in the communities we are in (as an example, child
identification programs for the FBI and children's parents; Blood
drives; the Shriner Hospitals are run by Masons.) While we do this we
encourage our members to be the best possible citizens they can be.
So, if anybody is in a position to donate this, or just want
more information on us, I hope you will email me.
Thank You,
---
