(not sure if this got through as I did things sort of out of order, before.
Forgive a resend if you have already seen it)
Hi, my name is Alex Darke, and I am attempting to set up majordomo 1.94.3
on my Linux box (kernel 2.0.30) with some difficulty.
My main problem is this.
I got through the entire install process without a hitch. (created the user
lists rather than majordomo, as linux only wants 8 character usernames).
Ran the ./wrapper config-test as a lower end user, and it all came out just
fine.
Where I ran into my first problem was when I tried to do the test
touch /home/lists/lists/test
echo 'lists; |mail lists
I was getting some wierd "bad map" error.
hash map "Alias1": unsafe map file /home/lists/majordomo.aliases: Permission
denied
I believe was the error. I checked the chmod on it
1 -rw-rw-r-- 1 lists bin 857 Sep 22 18:39 majordomo.aliases
and I *think* this is right?
Anyway. I fiddled with this thing so much now, I am not even sure what to
do at this point. I do the "touch" and "echo" command now, and it doesn't
even respond, but if I check the account "lists" the email is sitting in
there.
Help? Are there more documentations I can read? Someone who has had this
happen before? anything to help me get this up and running would be most
appreciated.
Thank you for your time.
