Hello to all,

I'm "very" new to Majordomo and I need some help in predicting system
performance if one of the lists I have has 1000+ members.

The system I have Majordomo installed is on a Silicon Graphics Challenge
'S', running IRIX 5.3 with Sendmail 8.8.6. This host also acts as my
company's main SMTP server.

Will such a list with that many members impose a 'noticeable' degradation
in system performance for other users?

Does Majordomo run at a high priority and take all system resources once a
message is posted to the 1000+ member list, and in doing so deny other SMTP
requests from other system users (in other words am I going to get
complaints from my customers that they can't send their email ) ?

Is it wise to get a dedicated list server for this amount list members? I
also read about bulk mailers is it the way to go... and easy to install?

Thanking you all in advance...

Cesar
