Tracy,

I suspect that the 'maxlength' parameter in your list's xxx.config file
is still set to the default which is only 40,000 bytes.  That would
explain why some attachments are getting through but not the larger
ones.

Look for the following in your config file and set it to a larger value.
The following example has it set for 1,000,000 bytes.

        # maxlength            [integer] (40000) <resend,digest>
        # The maximum size of an unapproved message in characters. When
        # used with digest, a new digest will be automatically generated
if
        # the size of the digest exceeds this number of characters.
maxlength           =   1000000
