I am in the process of building Majordomo(1.94.4)
server on Solaris 2.51 sparc classic.
My problem here is that I need to have the Majordomo on the
seperate machine then the Sendmail gateway server. The GW
server has Sendmail 8.8.4 and the its mailertable does not
have Majordomo server on its list.
I tried adding Majordomo account in my alias table as;
Majordomo: majordom@MJserver
then in MD server's MD home, .foward file was created as;
\majordom, "|/path/to/majordomo/wrapper majordomo"
This worked fine when I mail locally from MD server,
but whenever the mail is sent from outside of server,
it goes into the /var/mail of one of server(fixed) on the
mailertable.
In such a case, do I need to make this MD server as
one of mail server on the mailertable?
To do that, is it correct procedure to first build a
sendmail.cf file on MD server, then restart sendmail.
>From mail svr, rebuild mailertable(not sure what to do
w/ sendmail to create this table. The mail GW server
(Auspex NFS server, Sun O/S 4.1.4) already has mailertable.db
on it but I can't find dbm or hash. Yes, most of these settings
were done way befor I came here. :-( )
then make the sendmail to re-read it to mem(or is this not
necessary at all?)
I am no guru anything, so all the additional explanation/cautions
will be very much apprecated.
