It doesn't know what this is, it isn't a command it recognizes.

This is trying to unsubscribe the sender (you) again, but it already did
that two lines above.

Again, it doesn't recognize this as a command. See the pattern? You need
<command> <listname> <argument> all on one line. I THINK if you have to
split the lines you could do a \ (I know you can with the auth command).
So:
unsubscribe hotnews \
email@address.here
Should work. Thats your problem though, when the email address flips to a
line on its own.
