Digest Problem With Virtual Majordomo

I have set up virtual mailing lists on my IRIX 6.3 box (majordomo 1.94.4,
sendmail 8.8.8), and after loads of working on it got it working fine.

There is one remaining problem - digests are not being created correctly by my
nightly digesting cronjob.  The mkdigest request gets submitted correctly, but
an error message is returned with an error message like:

"550 yourlist-digest-outgoing... User unknown
Message delivered to owner-yourlist-domain"

All my aliases are of the form 
"yourlist-domain-digest-outgoing"
to keep the virtual domains straight.  The "domain" part isn't being understood
by digest despite the fact that all my config files, aliases, and virtual user
tables refer to it in that manner.

Does anyone have digests working for virtual domains?
