Hi All,
My Majordomo has been working very well since I installed it some weeks ago.
Majordomo 1.94.4
SendMail 8.8.6
BSDI BSD/OS 3.1 on a 233MHz Intel Pentium
However, with one of the lists we serve, we suddenly ran into a problem which I cannot find any reference to in the Majordomo
documents.
When the list-owner sends an e-mail with a whole batch of approved zubscribe and unzubscribe commands in it, we suddenly get
the following error:-
----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
"|/usr/local/majordomo/wrapper majordomo"
(expanded from: <majordomo@sohomart.com>)
----- Transcript of session follows -----
Cputime limit exceeded
554 "|/usr/local/majordomo/wrapper majordomo"... unknown mailer error 152
I have tested with smaller batches and it seems that 9 approved zubscribe and/or unzubscribe are the limit per e-mail,
because as soon as one sends a batch of 10 the above-mentioned error occurs.
I have also tested with the $max_loadavg in majordomo.cf commented out. No go. Still the same.
But, that isn't all.
When we e-mail multiple smaller batches of approved zubscribe and/or unzubscribe commands to the majordomo server (so as to
not go over the 9 per batch and cause the "Cputime limit exceeded" error), we get the following error randomly:-
MAJORDOMO ABORT (mj_majordomo)!!
Can't append to /usr/local/majordomo/Lists/gossip: File exists
With randomly I mean that some of the batches of 9 approved zubscribe and/or unzubscribe commands go through fine, but in
others majordomo aborts with this "file exists" error after some of the approved zubscribe and/or unzubscribe commands in the
e-mail message was already executed successfully, but not all 9 yet.
Please HELP! I am tearing my hair out here (and that's a scarce commodity <g>)
Any advice / assistance would be highly appreciated.
Thanking you kindly in advance.
Regards,
Gerhard.
