Thanks to everyone who responded to my question about finding
a majordomo host.
This list:

has many services listed.
I found a couple (www.coollist.com is one) that will set up a
free list, but they put advertizing at the top or bottom of
each message they send out.
I got an account at peak.org that will let me set up a couple
of lists (they don't specify a limit, but I'm sure they'd
draw the line *somewhere*), and also gives me a unix account
I can use for e-mail, etc., for $7.50/month. I'm in the
process of setting things up now. So far so good.
