sendmail not running wrapper

Hello,

I made a fresh installation of 1.94.4, configured everything accroding to
INSTALL and NEWLIST, recompiled aliases, but when sending mail to majordomo, I
get the following reply:

   ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
"|/usr/local/majordomo/wrapper majordomo"
    (expanded from: <majordomo@spin.vl.net.ua>)

   ----- Transcript of session follows -----
sh: wrapper not available for sendmail programs
554 "|/usr/local/majordomo/wrapper majordomo"... Service unavailable

I checked FAQ, saw 2.2 which seemed to relate to my problem, then set
permissions like this:

[max@spin max]$ ls -al /usr/local/majordomo
total 255
drwxr-xr-x   6 majordom daemon       1024 Apr 20 16:52 .
drwxr-xr-x  13 root     root         1024 Apr 20 15:58 ..
[skipped]
-rwsr-xr-x   1 root     daemon       6759 Apr 20 15:58 wrapper

but it didn't help.

What am I doing wrong?
