Mhonarc has a database structure that can define the
headers and footers of each file.
I would not call it "easy" but it is doable.
the documentation page for mhonarc walks you thru
the set up.
And rather than a crontab entry, I would suggest a mail alias.
I have a list-www-archive alias that I subscribe to my
list. And every message then gets inserted onto the mhonarc
list immediatly.
