I don't think it is as simple as that. For example, my copy of the
message that you posted, Rich, shows:
To: majordomo-users@GreatCircle.COM
cc: (bcc: Andrew Witt/SallieMae)
and I assume that you did not Bcc: your reply. Moreover, among my own
users, each recipient of a message that comes to them via Majordomo sees
the message as if it were Bcc:'d to them. I have NEVER seen a counter
example at my site.
Having said all that, I think the answer IS simple: I think that it is an
e-mail client issue; i.e., what does the client do with various SMTP
headers? My users use cc:Mail or Lotus Notes, neither one of which is
especially SMTP-friendly. IMHO, they both do rather arbitrary things with
SMTP headers.
I have noticed that the Bcc: crap does NOT show up on messages that go
through Majordomo to an account for which my e-mail client is Pine.
So this is a case of Stupid E-mail Clients, not Stupid Users.
