Is there a problem with sendmail Version 8.8.8 and majordomo ?

mj_majordomo: ABORT
While running with an effective uid of 65534 and an effective gid of
60001 60001, Majordomo
ran into the following problems:
Unable to write to list directory $listdir, check permissions on
/usr/local/mdomo/lists

"|/usr/local/mdomo/wrapper majordomo"... Sent


Also I have a list creation question. 

Currently our administrators are all aliased to systems@domain.net 
Everyone gets a copy of the mail and nobody knows who has answered what. 
I would like to us Majordomo to manage this mail and archive it. We
could then use a web based converter like "MHonArc" 
http://www.greatcircle.com/lists/majordomo-users/archive.html

I have read the FAQ and majordomo.ora but I am just not getting it. 
I can create a list but after that it's not clear to me. 
What would the aliases look like? Say the list was systems...
