Adding files to archive directory

I would like to add text files to the archive directory so that subscribers
can use the "get" command to retrieve them.  Right now if I can retreived
archives of my digest, and of the messages sent to the list for the current
month.

Because the permissions to the archive directory are set to majordomo only,
I can not FTP and place files there.  Is there a command that I can use to
send a file to that directory for access?
