Check for spaces in your footer. For me I've noticed that my footer ends
at a blank line, rather than at the END command. If you start with a
blank line, then it would end there, making it seem like nothing was being
done.
I beat it by putting a . where I wanted a blank line. It puts the . in,
but I don't have a problem with that.
