This is responsible for your issue. This is not the normal administrative
model.
The correct way to install majordomo is to have "majordomo" not receive
mail into the user mailbox, but rather, alias it to deliver the messages
into a pipe to "/path/to/majordomo/wrapper majordomo".
Because you're collecting it in a maildrop and forwarding it out, the
command you use to forward it out (presumably "mail" or "mailx") rewrites
the mailbox on close, or deletes it if it has processed all messages.
Hence the message you see.
You don't need to reinstall majordomo from scratch; you do need to set up
the aliases correctly.
