That's a matter of personal opinion and list etiquitte for a particular
list. I'm on a number of lists where there can be a delay of up to four
hours on messages, so Cc:'s to the original poster (and anybody that chimes
in) is the only way to keep a reasonably quick discussion going. It's also
reasonable for lists that gateway to newsgroups, as the original poster may
never see the reply if you don't Cc: to them.
