I am setting up majordomo on a new machine and want to keep everything
owned by majordom:majordom (except wrapper of course, which is suid
root:majordom). I also want to keep the files in the lists directory
660. Unfortunately, these two goals seem to be incompatible.

The only way that I can get a letter out to the list is to make the list
file world readable. I've read the FAQ and it says that you can't do
both of the things that I want to do, but I'm hoping that some
enterprising person has found a way. :) I've added majordomo to
sendmail.cf as a trusted user, tried adding root, daemon to the majordom
group, all to no avail. All aspects of the list function just fine, and
sending mail to the list works just fine when I make the list file world
readable.

I'm using majordomo 1.94.4, perl 5.00502, sendmail 8.8.8. I'm open to
any suggestion except using another MTA. I am sticking with sendmail. I
would be willing to upgrade to sendmail 8.91a if that would help. Any
other help would be appreciated. :)

Thanks,

Doug
